EVIDENT is a government subsidized project related to Electric Vehicle (EV) functionality. Cooperation partners are TNO Automotive, Quipment, e-laad.nl and TomTom.
Goal
The goal of this project is to provide the availability of ePoints to the end user, fully integrated on the TomTom navigation solution.
Problem
All providers have different techniques to offer their information from comma delimited files, XML to heavy weight SOAP interfaces. Hightech ICT was asked to develop an application that collects all charging station locations and the current status from providers all over the world.
Solution
We built a J2EE application that combines all information sources into a single stream that we push over the air to the navigation devices. The availability of a charging station can be used by the navigation module and is shown on the map.
